My Hyatt Regency Staycation

We "staycation" at the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch every summer, but this visit was definitely our best yet! Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived. They offered us early check-in and upgraded us to a king suite. They even had cocktails for us at check-in (and a juice box for William, so he didn't feel left out. They really thought of everything!).

They provided an activities sheet with all of the daily and weekend resort activities. There is so much to do there, we could have stayed for a week! We enjoyed the gorgeous swimming pools and real sand beach, the water slide, the Regency Club lounge, the restaurants, live music, the spa, gondola rides and family movie night at the pool (complete with little bags of popcorn). They also offered yoga, guacamole and margarita making classes, and so much more. I hope to do all of these next time!

Spa Avania is the perfect environment to relax and unwind! I've received massages and facials there many times and have always been so pleased. The spa has all the amenities you could ever want; mineral pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, cold water deluge, indoor and outdoor showers, and a separate women's lounge with light snacks and beverages. The spa amenities are available to spa guests and those with Regency Club access. The mineral pool is so relaxing and great for your hair, skin, and nails, so I couldn't resist taking a dip!

After my spa visit, I was delighted and surprised to return to my room to find a beautiful tray had been delivered with a bottle of wine, antipasti, and desserts. They truly went above and beyond to make our stay very special.

We ate dinner at the Southwest Bistro. I had the crab tostada, Tim had a burger with tortilla soup, and William had a kids meal with chicken fingers. Our meal was delicious. Tim and I agreed that we will go back there for date night soon.  After dinner, we listened to live music in the lobby lounge, watched a little bit of the family movie by the pool (Trolls movie), and went on the most incredible gondola ride in the beautiful lake behind the resort. Our gondolier, Scott, sang us the most beautiful Italian songs during our cruise around the lake. It was very romantic and the perfect way to end the perfect day!

It's a very family-friendly resort, but perfect for couples, as well. Tim and I stayed here many times before we had William and enjoyed the adult-only pool, the many restaurants and bars, live music, and gondola rides, as well. They do have babysitters at the kids club, as well, so we might check that out next time.

We were given access to the Regency Club, which was great. It's a lounge offering complimentary snacks and beverages throughout the day, as well as, daily continental breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres and desserts. We always add this on when we stay at the Hyatt, as it's so convenient and worth it.

We had such a fun weekend and left feeling refreshed and relaxed. Staycations really help break up the long HOT summers here in AZ. Whether you live in AZ or are planning a visit to Scottsdale, this resort is a must! There is no other like it. We can't wait to plan our next visit.
